How Physiotherapy Treatments Help Recovery

Physiotherapy treatment methods are designed to address the root cause of pain and dysfunction, not just symptoms. Treatment may involve pain reduction therapies, techniques for control of inflammation and swelling, biomechanical movement restoration, functional mobility restoration, neuromuscular retraining, and progressive strength rehabilitation.

  • Which physiotherapy treatment is best for my condition?

Your physiotherapist will determine the most appropriate treatment after a biomechanical assessment. Most injuries respond well to a combination of treatments, with each one being directed at a different component (swelling, pain, loss of motion) of the injury.

  • Do physiotherapy treatments hurt?

Most treatments are comfortable and designed to relieve pain while promoting healing. Your therapist will continually monitor your response to treatment as the goal is to get the maximum amount of benefit with the least amount of discomfort, especially in the early stages of recovery.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the severity of your condition and your recovery goals.

  • Do you offer advanced therapies like Shockwave and IMS?

Yes. Flaman Physiotherapy offers advanced treatment options including Shockwave Therapy, IMS, Laser Therapy and Graston Technique.
